Tufted Duck (Aythya fuligula) is a common winter visitor to north and east India, scarce in south. Found in wetlands.

Identification: This yellow-eyed duck has blue bill with black nail at tip and a occipital tuft.  Size: 44 cm
Local names: Dubaru or Ablak

Food: mainly vegetable matter, also molluscs, crustaceans, insects and small fish
