Black-billed Magpie (Pica pica) is a local resident in northern and central Himalayas.   Size: 45-50 cm   Weight: 185 gm

Identification: This is a large black and white bird with a long tail and dark bill. Its bill, head, breast, and underparts are black, with a bluish-green iridescence on the wings and tail. The belly and shoulders are white.

Food: The Black-billed Magpie forages for food on the ground and its diet mainly consists of insects. It is also known to feed on carrion.
